How to Estimate Your Volume

1 Pickup Truck Load ≈ 3–4 cubic yards
The typical full-size pickup truck holds about 3–4 cubic yards when loaded level with the bed rails.
14-Yard = ~4–5 Truck Loads
That's roughly 60–70 33-gallon trash bags, or a single-room renovation worth of debris.
21-Yard = ~6–7 Truck Loads
That's roughly 90–105 33-gallon trash bags, or a full home cleanout worth of furniture and junk.
The Weight Limit — What You Need to Know
Both TrashCo DFW dumpsters include 2 tons (4,000 lbs) of weight in the flat rate. For most projects — furniture, wood, drywall, carpet, shingles — 2 tons is more than enough. The exception is heavy materials:
- Concrete: Weighs ~150 lbs per cubic foot. A half-filled 14-yard dumpster of solid concrete would exceed the weight limit.
- Dirt / Soil: Similar weight to concrete — extremely dense.
- Asphalt shingles: A 2,000 sq ft roof is approximately 3–4 tons of shingles if you have multiple layers. Call us before booking for heavy roofing jobs.
- Brick / Pavers: Very heavy — load only to the 1/4 mark if mixing with other debris.

Driveway Clearance — Will It Fit?
Both TrashCo dumpsters are 7.5 feet wide — narrower than most standard two-car driveways. The main thing to check is:
- Height clearance: Any overhead utility lines, branches, or awnings? The 21-yard is 5 ft tall, the 14-yard is 4 ft. Plus the delivery truck adds significant height during placement — typically 12–14 ft at the highest point.
- Length: The 14-yard needs ~16 ft of driveway length; the 21-yard needs ~18 ft.
- Entry width: Can the truck get to the driveway? Most residential streets in DFW are fine. Narrow alleys or tight gates may limit access — call us if you're unsure.
